Funny That celebrates 5th year of Open Air Theatre Comedy Festival with strongest ever lineup

Now in its fifth year, Funny That is proud to announce that its Comedy Festival at Brighton Open Air Theatre has it’s strongest every lineup, including, for the first time ever, two additional dates later in the year for the shows they weren’t able to fit in.

The beautiful Brighton Open Air Theatre, further updated for 2024 with refurbished audience facilities, is often cited as the most stunning open air venue in the South, and this year plays host to TEN incredible shows, featuring some of the greatest UK comedians currently working and some wonderful award winning family comedy. This year, acts include MAISIE ADAM, JOSH PUGH, GARY DELANEY, SARA PASCOE, ROMESH RANGANATHAN, PAUL SINHA, THANYIA MOORE, MARCUS BRIGSTOCKE, JEFF INNOCENT, ZOE LYONS, STEPHEN GRANT, FIN TAYLOR. LARRY DEAN, SUZI RUFFELL, KANE BROWN, SCOTT BENNETT, JEN BRISTER, and family friendly shows with OLAF FALAFEL and the MIGHTY KIDS BEATBOX COMEDY GAME SHOW.

Stephen Grant said: “We’re so stoked with the shows that we’re bringing to BOAT this year. We listened to the feedback from last year; and what you asked for was a wider range of performers, the biggest local names, a more relaxed format to allow you to bring and enjoy your picnics, some sunshine, and Romesh. And for the first time ever, we can hopefully say that at least one of those two last things is turning up!

Will Mytum said: “We’re delighted to welcome Funny That to BOAT with their Summer Comedy Festival for the fifth year running. The Comedy Festival has become a beloved staple of our summer seasons, helping facilitate our growth locally and nationally through the prestige that the fabulous comedians who participate bring. Stephen and team are a cherished part of the BOAT family and our audiences absolutely love the comedy, with one performance this year selling out within 72 hours of going on sale – a BOAT record!

🥂 Brighton Open Air Theatre is fully accessible and now has great onsite facilities and full bar, or you’re welcome to BYO and bring a picnic!
